Fairtrade organic cotton is sourced from farms signed up to the Faitrade initiative. Farmers receive a fair price for their cotton as well as paying the Fairtade Premium. The Premium is then invested back into the local community whether that is schools or buying better tools and machinery.

Farmers are encouraged to convert their conventional cotton farm to an organic model, which means we term this organic cotton in conversion. 6000 farmers have been been converted to certified organic since the start of the scheme. After 4 years in this scheme farmers can then apply for Fairtrade certification.
